Definition of Ex Serviceman for Employment

1.  Ex Servicemen Explanation: An ‘ex-serviceman’ means a person who has served in any rank whether as a combatant or noncombatant in the Regular Army, Navy or Air Force of the India union, and Who either has been retired or relieved or discharged from such service whether at his own request or being relieved by the employer after earning his or her pension.

Definition of Ex Serviceman: An ‘ex-serviceman’ means a person who has been relieved from such service on medical grounds attributable to military service or circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or other disability pension.

Definition of Ex Serviceman: An ‘ex-serviceman’ means a person who has been released from such service as a result of reduction in establishment.

Definition of Ex Serviceman: An ‘ex-serviceman’ means a person who has been released from such service after completing the specific period of engagement, otherwise than at his own request, or by way of dismissal, or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency and has been given a gratuity; and includes personnel of the Territorial Army, namely, pension holders for continuous embodied service or broken spells of qualifying service.

Application for Reemployment of Ex Serviceman 

The persons serving in the Armed Forces of the Union, who on retirement from service, would come under the category of ex-serviceman will be permitted to apply for reemployment one year before the completion of the specified term of engagement and avail themselves of all concessions available to ex-serviceman but shall not be permitted to
leave the uniform until they complete the specified term of engagement in the Armed Forces of the Union.

Age Relaxation & Age Concession for Wards of Ex Servicemen

Age Relaxation: Age concession/reservation is not admissible to sons, daughters and dependents of ex-servicemen. Therefore, such candidates should not indicate their category as ex-servicemen.

Ex Servicemen Children Definition

Children Means: Son (including adopted son) or Daughter (including adopted daughter) of ex servicemen.

Dependent family member Definition 

Spouse or Children or Brother or Sister in the case of unmarried victim who was wholly dependent on that victim at the time of his getting killed in the riots would be eligible. In order to be eligible for upper age relaxation in the category of SC/ST and OBC, the applicant should produce a certificate to that effect from the concerned District Collector/District Magistrate wherein the victim was killed.
