Full Forms of IMA, NA, OTA, and AFA in CDSE Application: Every year the Union Public Service Commission holds a combined exam for recruiting new aspirants into the Indian Defence Services. This combined examination is held twice in a year. CDSE stands for Combined Defence services exam. Every year students in thousands appear for this examination. This exam is significantly important for those who want to join Defence Services after their bachelors are complete. The minimum qualification barrier to appear for CDSE exam is a graduation degree with 60% marks. The students in the final year of their graduation may also appear for this examination if they wish to. The only condition is that they must not have any pending backlogs in any of the subjects.
The Indian army comprises of mainly four training academies. If you clear the CDSE examination and clear your way through the SSB, you are supposed to be trained by one of these four academies. The choice of the academy lies totally in your hands depending upon which wing of Defence Services you wish to be a part of. The CDSE examination consists of quantitative aptitude, basic general knowledge and English. If you qualify this examination, next is the call for the SSB interview. Both men and women can appear for CDSE examination. But, before applying make sure that you are well aware about the eligibility criteria. For IMA, candidates between 18-24 years of age can apply. Whereas, for NA the eligible age range to apply is between 18-23 years and for OTA it is between 19-25 years of age. Women can also apply for Officer’s training academy. The condition for both men and women to join OTA is that they should be unmarried or not have any children if divorced.
