1.  Indian Army University Entry Scheme July 2018: BE/B Tech, Engineering Degree students studying in Pre-Final Year (III year), who wish to join Indian Army as Permanent Commissioned Officer through SSB interview without any written exam, may apply under University Entry Scheme (UES)  2018.

3.  Nationality Eligibility:

Nationality EligibilityA candidate must either be :
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) A subject of Bhutan, or
(c) A subject of Nepal, or
(d) A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962
with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri
Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of
Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention
of permanently settling in India.
(f) Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v)
above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been
issued by the Government of India.
(g) Certificate of eligibility will not, however, be necessary in the case of
candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

4.  Physical Standard for UES 2018:  Physical Standard of height and weight for various reasons of Indian States are as under:

(a)  Physical Requirements, the minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms for Indidan Army University Entry Scheme 2018.

(b)  In case of Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of North Eastern regions of India, Garhwal and Kumaon, the minimum acceptable height will be 5 cm less than the general norm.

(c)  In the case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cm.

6.  Selection Procedure :

(a) Received online applications of candidates will be forwarded to respective Command HQrs

(b) Preliminary Screening test will be held in respective Command HQ. Preliminary selection of prospective candidates studying in the Pre – Final Year (Engineering) will be made by selection teams detailed by Command HQ for holding preliminary interviews at University/ College.

(c) Integrated HQ of MoD(Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications recommended by Comd HQ in the preliminary screening.

(d) Only shortlisted eligible candidates will be interviewed at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will only be issued through candidate’s registered e-mail id and through SMS. Candidates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ MoD (Army) and no request for changes are entertained in this regard.

(e) Candidates will put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same date. Duration of SSB interviews is five days excluding day of arrival and details of the same are available at official website of Rtg Dte www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
