Look of Hanuman ji.
According to the Hindu epic Ramayana, Hanuman is depicted as a mighty man with the face of a monkey. His body is incredibly muscular and strong, with the sacred thread hanging from his shoulder. He is usually shown wearing only a loincloth, and a golden crown and ornaments adorn his body. His long tail is like that of a monkey and his main weapon is mace.
Hanuman ji in Ramayan.
The fifth book of the Ramayana, Sunderkand, is all about Hanuman. In this story, Sita is kidnapped by the demon king Ravana, and Hanuman meets Rama in the last year of his 14-year exile. Rama is accompanied by his brother Lakshmana, and they are both searching for Sita. The other stories about Rama are the most detailed accounts of Hanuman's life.

Various versions of the Ramayana exist in India, each with its own unique take on the characters of Hanuman, Rama, Sita, Lakshmana and Ravana. The details of these characters can vary greatly between versions.
other literature
Apart from Ramayana and Mahabharata, mention of Hanuman ji is found in many other texts. Some of these stories recount his exploits in the epics, while others tell of alternate stories of his life. For example, the Skanda Purana mentions Hanuman at Rameswaram, and in a South Indian version of the Shiva Purana, he is described as the son of Shiva and Mohini (a female avatar of Vishnu). Additionally, his mythology is sometimes combined or merged with that of Lord Ayyappa, who is popular in parts of South India.
Hanumaji in Mahabharata
The Mahabharata is another major epic that mentions Hanuman where he is presented as the brother of Bhima, whom Hanuman accidentally meets on Bhima's way to Mount Kailash. A man of extraordinary strength, Bhima is unable to move Hanuman's tail, which makes him realize Hanuman's might.
Hanuman Chalisha.
In the 16th century, Indian poet Tulsidas composed the Hanuman Chalisa, a hymn of devotion to Hanuman. He asserted that he had a personal encounter with Hanuman, which inspired him to write the Ramcharitmanas, an Awadhi language version of the Ramayana.
How did Hanuman get the name Pawan Putra ?
Pawan Dev played an important role in the birth of Hanuman. King Dasaratha of Ayodhya was performing a Putreshti Havan with his wives in order to be blessed with a son. After the Havan was completed, Gurudev distributed a portion of the Prasad kheer among the three queens. A crow then took a portion of the kheer to a place where Anjani Maa was doing penance. This was all part of Lord Shiva and Vayu Dev's plan. When the kheer arrived in Anjana's hands, she accepted it as a blessing from Lord Shiva and, as a result, Hanuman was born.
